5th Trail Nut 10k and Half Marathon

Good times at Falling Creek Park today.
Thank you for coming out and enjoying a day in the woods and on the
trails. Deer, rabbits, turtles, toads, snakes, 1000's of locust
(did you notice any of the 1000's of holes in the ground from the
locust?), and ground hogs were seen today.
We had a lot of fun and were glad the rain held
off until after the race. We had a hard time staying on the trail
when the rain came while we were cleaning up the course.
I love looking at the Half Marathon results and
seeing how the laps played out. I like to see who had even splits,
negative splits and who really fell off their first lap pace. Info
like this always helps me dial things in "next time."
Two records were broken yesterday;
A new female 10k record in 46:17.72 run by Jackie Kosakowski
- age 28
And a new female masters record in the 10k in
56:45.67 run by Sarah Holbrook - age 45
Congratulations to you both.
Next up is the
Conquer the Cove 25k & Marathon
on 6/3/12
at Roanoke City's main trail running destination, Carvins Cove. Register by
5/12 to guarantee a technical gender specific shirt and
to avoid the $10 price increase.
