Come Out & Gallop for a Great Cause
Gallop for the Greenways is an annual fundraising event to support our growing network of pedestrian and bicycle trails. The annual Gallop for the Greenways will be held on Wiley Drive near River’s Edge Sports Complex. This year we have added a 1 mile race on Friday night to kick things off and then the usual schedule will pick up on Saturday with a 5k race that will take place on the beautiful Roanoke River Greenway. After the race, be sure to stick around for the post-race festivities including music, food and a fine selection of beverages proper for adults and children. Mark your calendars today and join us in supporting one of the most important quality of life assets in the Roanoke area.

Start and Finish Locations:
The entire event will take place at River’s Edge Sports Complex. Wiley Drive penetrates the middle of the park and will also serve as the starting line and race course, so everyone will need to park on the Reserve Avenue side. There is a gravel parking lot and street side parking. For more specific information, visit the park’s page here: http://www.playroanoke.com/athletics/rivers-edge-sports-complex-map/

Stay After for our Post-Race Party!
When the race is over, the real fun gets underway. This year the post-race party will be in the festival lot across the foot bridge from the starting line. Celebrate our Greenways with live music, great food and adult and kid-friendly beverages after the race.

Admission to the post-race party is absolutely free to the public, so invite the entire family to stay after and celebrate the Greenways and your completion of the Gallop for the Greenways race.
