12th Gallop for the Greenways
Friday May 11th – 1 mile race
6:30pm Start
New this year will be the Greenway 1 Mile race. What better way to test yourself and showcase your speed than a 1 mile point to point, down stream race on the greenway. The race will be headquartered at the race finish on Riverside South. Each participant will get a chance to warm up and get ready as they make their way to the starting line at the intersection of Winona Ave and Wiley Drive.

Start and Finish Locations:
The race headquarters will be in it’s usual place River’s Edge Sports Complex. The course will take place on Wiley Drive. With the starting line being at the intersection of Wiley Drive and Winona Avenue (just upstream from the low water bridge) and the finish line being on Wiley Drive between Franklin Road and Jefferson Street.
It is recommended that everyone park on the Reserve Avenue at Rivers Edge Sports Complex North. There is a gravel parking lot and street side parking. For more specific information, visit the park’s page here: http://www.playroanoke.com/athletics/rivers-edge-sports-complex-map/
1 Miler Course Description:
1. The starting line for the 1 Miler will be at the intersection of Wiley Drive and Winona Ave.
2. The course will run down stream on the closed road side heading toward the finish on Wiley Drive between Franklin and Jefferson.

There will be a Race Briefing at 6:15 on Wiley Drive at the Start
Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony will take place at the Starr Hill Tap Room at 6 Old Whitmore Ave (just a few blocks away at South 16 at the Bridges). We encourage you to head over for a beverage and food.
