North Mountain – Longdale Furnace

This is ridge running/riding at it’s best.  It’s a long climb to the top of North Mountain, but the ridge top single-track trail that awaits is well worth it. Get ready for awesome cliff-top views and a sometimes technical but mostly smooth trail. At the high point you’ll ascend a stone staircase between house-sized boulders to a craggy pinnacle. The ride back down is fast and furious for a total ride of 16.5 miles.

The initial .4 miles are trail, this takes you to 2.4 miles of a newly cut logging road that eventually becomes gravel and climbs, climbs, climbs up to the top of the ridge of N. Mtn.  From there it is trail back down to the logging road, where you will retrace your steps back to the parking lot.
