Join us on Saturday December 15th for the fourth Mountain Junkies holiday cookie run. What could be more fun than running trails and then eating cookies?
Cookies you say?
It’s a simple format with one basic rule. You have to bring homemade cookies to participate.
- We meet at 8:30a.m. at the Hollins University Dining Hall.
- At 9:00a.m. we run the Tinker Creek Greenway to Carvins Cove boat docks and back to Hollins (approximately 7 miles total).
- You don’t have to run the whole way.
- Regardless of speed, I’d suggest everyone turnaround at 30 minutes and head back.
- Please contact Gina at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know if you plan to attend. We’d like know how many calories we need to burn that week so we can try all the cookies.
Hollins University Map
On the map, the Dining Hall is #22. The Moody Center and we’ll be meeting at the Rathskeller.
Once back we enjoy cookies, coffee, tea, cocoa, and oh yeah, socializing with other mountain junkies.
So let’s end the year in the company of friends; sweaty, caffeinated and over sugared.
Check out the schedule of events for our 11th Roanoke Non Ultra Trail Series.
Couple things to note;
We are ordering zip up hoodies for the 1/12/19 Frozen Toe 10k.
This year’s RNUTS finishers award will be a Patagonia Classic Synchilla Jacket

The preregistered list for the race has been posted and will be updated periodically until the race. There are two waves in the preregistered list. Look it over and let me know if you need anything updated.
You can find all the Go Cross results and individual lap rankings here https://mountainjunkies.net/gocross-results/
In an effort to increase the usage of backcountry trails I have added a few maps to the Glenwood Horse Trail page. These maps and runs are based from the Day Creek Day Use area. This is a fantastic area with some great training routes that hold up to all kinds of weather. So when the city parks/trails are muddy and use is inadvisable, you now have a place to go that is about the same distance away. Check it out https://mountainjunkies.net/glenwood-horse-trail/
If you were unable to stay for the awards we will have them at Gilbert Chiropractic for the next two weeks – 212 East Main Street, Salem, VA
M & W – 8-11 and 3-6
T & Thurs – 10-1 and 3-6
There were some pictures taken at the start, finish and during the awards. They will be uploaded to our Facebook Page as soon as we can get them added.
Another RNUTS season has ended. What a great time! Thanks for being a part of it.
I have updated the RNUTS point standings to include the CtC races. You can check them out from this page – https://mountainjunkies.net/site/rnuts-results/
Let me know if you see any mathematical errors ASAP so that we can have everything set for Saturday’s social and awards ceremony.
